Dr Kierstan was appointed as Chief Executive in 2000. Prior to joining BRi Dr Kierstan was, for ten years, Chief Executive of Leatherhead International, an organisation which provides information and technology services to major food companies around the world. Previously he was Director of Research & Technology at Dalgety plc, an international agri-food business, prior to which he held a similar post at Kerry Group plc, a major dairy and ingredients company.
Dr Kierstan's earlier career was as Head of Biotechnology at the IIRS (Ireland) and as a Research Scientist at Tate & Lyle. He has a degree in Biochemistry from Surrey University, a PhD from London University and was a Post Doctoral Fellow at Oxford University.
